WINGS - Flyer/info

WINGS (We Inspire Nurture & Give Support) is co-led by ARG’s Supportive Care Counselor and a peer-mentor. This group focuses on thriving while living with HIV by engaging in meaningful discussions and activities to nurture the mind, body, and spirit—mindfulness, meditation, journaling, and sharing with others are just a few ways to explore wellness.

Meetings are held at Central Library in downtown Evansville every fourth Wednesday at 10am. Please contact Emily at (812)421-0059 or ewoodruff@argevansville.org for room number.

Support Group/Family Reunion - Flyer/info

Support Group, also known as “Family Reunion”, meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 5:30p. Food to be provided. Transportation available to Vanderburgh County residents with a 24 hour notice. Please join us for this informal support group for people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Dubois Co Support Group - Flyer/info

Our newest support group meets in Jasper, IN to better serve our clients who reside outside of the Evansville area. This informal support group meets on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 P.M. EST. Snacks are provided. Transportation is available to Dubois County residents with a 24 hour notice.

Housing

  • Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA): Eligible clients who are enrolled with the Housing Specialist may receive housing assistance through the HOPWA program.
  • Potentially eligible clients must be referred to the program by an ARG case management program and clients must enroll in Care Coordination to remain eligible.
  • Case management services are provided by the Housing Specialist and include the development of an individualized housing plan, budgeting and removal of barriers to stable housing.
  • Short-term assistance provides financial support for rent, mortgage or utilities
  • Long-term assistance provides financial support for those with significant financial barriers for up to two years of rent. Participant pays approximately 30% of their income toward their rent.
  • Housing Placement assistance helps to remove barriers toward housing by covering deposits, application fees and first month's rent to eligible clients. This program can only be utilized ONE TIME per client.
  • Short-term Supporitve Housing provides funds to clients in emergent situations for up to 60 days. Funding is extremely limited and reviewed on a case by case basis.

Financial Assistance

  • Direct Emergency Financial Assistance: This program helps to supplement client income by providing financial assistance for housing, utilities, prescription assistance and transportation. Funding is provided, in part, by the Indiana AIDS Fund.
  • Benevolent Fund: This assistance program provides financial assistance to assist with costs associated with prescription drug co-pays and emergency services. Client eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Food Pantry

ARG has an on-site food pantry that provides groceries and personal care items to clients in need. Clients are eligible for a food pantry referral once per month. Orders depend on household size and services are not limited by income.
